Steve is without doubt one of our favourite artists ever to appear here at the Art Centre and we look forward to hie return and hearing songs from his latest ‘Lockdown’ album ‘Such Times’

‘As seen on Later with Jools Holland & BBC Four Songwriters’ Circle

BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winner – Best Original Song

‘The more you listen, the more there is to discover.’ – Bob Harris

Such Times, new studio album, released in 2021, 50 years after his debut recording An Acoustic Confusion.

Steve Tilston, the hugely talented award-winning performer presents an intimate evening of music, featuring unique arrangements of popular folksongs alongside his own critically acclaimed material.

Perhaps best known for his song-writing prowess, Steve is also a blinding, dazzling guitarist with a style echoing the elaborate rhythmic “folk baroque” of Bert Jansch and Davy Graham, but also drawing from classical, roots and the tradition to create a style that is typically Tilston.

‘…great stuff…great fun, wonderful playing and top songs, what more do you want from an evening.’ –’ Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2

‘A great narrator on top form.’’ – The Observer

‘A fine and thoughtful songwriter and singer and a remarkable guitarist.’ – The Guardian

‘Songs of great heart, delivered with authority and instrumental panache.’ – The Scotsman

Parking is available for free at West Kirby Concourse car park which is a one minute walk from the Arts Centre. Residents of the road struggle for car parking space and we'd appreciate it if visitors to the arts centre didn't add to the parking issues the road experiences. Thank you!
