A fundraising concert for Folk on the Farm and Tyddyn Mon
Folk on the Farm a festival with a big heart is run each year in support of Tyddyn Môn a charity which has been supporting adults with learning disabilities on the Isle of Anglesey for over 30 years. Their mission is to provide the best possible help, care and guidance to the people that they support so that they can live happy, full and independent lives.
The concert will feature: Corkie and John Williams. Corki will be playing a selection of his own songs and some folk / blues/ ballads.
Corki has been playing and singing on the folk scene here and abroad since he was sixteen years old. a great part of that Twenty years leading the well known folk band “Reckless Elbow”
His sets consist of original songs and covers reflecting artists as varied as the Dubliners, Tom Waits, Daryl Scott, Bob Dylan, The Pogues and Show of hands.
John Williams a singer songwriter based on the Wirral plays American Folk Roots and Acoustic music, performing a mixture of many covers from top artists ranging from Mark Knopfler, Jason Isabel, Chris Stapleton, Steve Knightley, Richard Shindell and many more playing his heartfelt sets mixed with his self penned songs.
John specialises in performing with his Cello-mandolins,Tenor Guitars, crafted by top luthiers David & Nick Oddy & Emerald guitars of Ireland. His first EP on the WWW “Six of Ten”, had a very encouraging 27K plays in its first few months.
John gigs across Northern England & Wales, performing at many Clubs, festivals and theatres. Although being a relatively later starter in the folk and acoustic music world, John’s popularity has grown rapidly, performing in top events such as The Great British Folk Festival and The Guitar Festival of Great Britain events for several years. also supporting artists of the calibre of the wonderful “Nick Harper”. John is again listed in the The Great British Folk Festival Line up Jan 2023 this being his 5th performance at this top British festival.
