Please come and join us for the Opening of Jim Pearson’s Exhibition ‘Around the lake in 365 days’
“It didn’t start out as a photographic project. It started out as a health and well being challenge to myself. Towards the end of 2020 I had become out of shape, physically and mentally. I’d spent most of the year working from home, not getting out much, trying to keep busy, but missing and mourning mum and dad.
The challenge was to run, jog, walk or crawl around West Kirby Marine Lake once a day, come what may, for an undetermined period of time untill I felt fitter, more balanced.
My journey started on November first, at about seven in the morning. It was dark and cold, but despite the rude awakening, there were immediate and undeniable benefits to geting up early to complete a lap. The stillness, the solitude, the scenery. The feeling of doing something I really didn’t have to do, and knowing I would probably do it again ther next day.
On November fifth, I took a photo with my phone and shared it on Facebook with what I imagined was a clever, enigmatic and poignant title…Day 1.”
The rest as they say is history.
